Pupil Premium
At St John’s C of E Primary School we strive for quality first teaching and learning for all our pupils regardless of their background or circumstances. We have high ambitions and expectations for all our pupils and are determined all pupils are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. We use our Pupil Premium allocation to be able to offer additional support for children eligible for pupil premium so that their learning and achievement is not disadvantaged.
We consider that it is very important for all our children to be able to access extra-curricular activities and school trips which add so much to their learning, confidence and self-esteem so a special access fund has been set up using pupil premium money to help families entitled to free school meals.
Checking for Free School Meal Eligibility and Pupil Premium Funding
Please click here for the form which enables the school to check for Free School Meal Eligibility and also if additional money (Pupil Premium) can be claimed from the Government. Pupil Premium is the additional funding given to schools for pupils who have been registered as being entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) at any point in the last 6 years. Schools receive this funding to support their eligible pupils and narrow the attainment gap between them and their peers.
Pupil Premium Plus
The Government has extended funding to schools to provide for children who are under a Special Guardianship Order or have been adopted from local authority care under the Adoption Act 2002. In order for our school to receive this additional funding, parents will need to identify these children by providing evidence, such as their official SGO or Adoption Order to a member of school staff. We would encourage any parent(s) with an eligible child(ren) to make themselves known to us. This information will be recorded and held in confidence and in line with all Data Protection requirements and used to support the learning needs of your child(ren).
