St John's C of E Primary School

Ofsted, Results and Performance

Ofsted

St John’s Primary was inspected by Ofsted in November 2023.

We are very pleased that the hard work undertaken by all in the school community has been recognised, including the systems in place, the reflective and driven nature of staff and governors and the commitment of the pupils.

The report recognised leaders are ambitious for all pupils to succeed with their learning and have an unwavering belief in inclusion which permeates the school’s work. Pupils read with confidence and fluency, using their phonic strategies. The wider development of pupils is a strength of the school and pupils have a strong voice through their opportunities to take on leadership roles.

OFSTED also praised the work the school is doing to protect pupils and keep them safe and that a lot of work is undertaken to support children’s personal development and wellbeing.

The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum that includes all subjects of the National Curriculum and meets statutory requirements. In particular, pupils love their forest school activities

Attainment

The school is committed to driving up  standards in attainment.

Our results represent a small part of the work that we, at St John’s, do to prepare our children for secondary school and beyond. Well done to all of our children whatever results they achieved – we know that they worked very hard and did their best throughout the year. Thank you  to all of our staff who have taught and supported the children throughout school, and to all of the parents and carers who have supported both the children and the staff in achieving these results.

Our most recent SAT results are shown below:
