Our Vision & Values

Our vision is to inspires us all and to embrace life - spurring us into action. Having a vision enables you to wake up every morning with a sense of purpose. It will keep you moving forward, knowing that the Lord has so much in store for you.

Through his life, death and resurrection, Jesus Christ set the ultimate example of what it means to serve others. The motive to serve is love. Everyone who follows Jesus Christ is called to serve.

As Christians, we are to serve one another and indeed the world around us. We are to be looking for opportunities to do good to all, to show kindness and love to all with whom we come in contact. Christ went about doing good and we are able to follow His example

Through service, God’s work is done.

There are many ways to serve. We can help others economically, socially, physically, and spiritually. For example, we can share food or other articles with those who need them. We can help those in need by giving a generous fast offering. We can be a friend to a newcomer. We can plant a garden or care for someone who is sick. We can teach the gospel to someone who needs the truth or comfort someone who grieves.

We should never fail to help someone because we are unable to do great things.

Our vision statement is founded upon the words of John and living a life of love for and to serve and others.

1 John 3:18

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

As Christians, we have a duty toward others. What a much different place this would be if we all, as Christians, would rise up and perform our duty. It is not too late to take your post and serve God and others to the fullness of your duty

Values

St John’s Church of England Primary School is proud of its Christian ethos and values.

As a church school, the leadership, its teaching and the experiences it offers will be underpinned and rooted in our Christian values of Faith, Love, Respect and Thankfulness.

Our values play a positive role in pupils’ development and help to guide us through our lives. Opportunities are provided for our Pupils to reflect on these values - which will help to guide them through their lives and   to develop Christian attitudes in making positive contributions to our community.

When John was evidently an old man in Ephesus, he had to be carried to the church in the arms of his disciples.  At these meetings, he was accustomed to say no more than, "Little children, love one another!"  After a time, the disciples wearied at always hearing the same words, asked, "Master, why do you always say this?" "It is the Lord's command," was his reply. "And if this alone be done, it is enough!"
