St John's C of E Primary School

Subject Overviews of Learning

Our dynamic and inspiring curriculum has been developed to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils. We follow the National Curriculum for all pupils so that they leave St John’s with the literacy and numeracy skills required to succeed at secondary school. However, we also encourage pupils to participate in creative activities and learning opportunities beyond the classroom including sports, music and drama. Our challenging curriculum and wide ranging programme of extra-curricular activities ensures our pupils develop a passion for learning.

Our curriculum also incorporates the teaching of our Christian values. Underlying pupils’ learning are the Christian values we aspire to nurture in all pupils: respect, responsibility and reverence. We aim for our pupils to grow into positive, considerate young people who can work and cooperate with others whilst also developing their knowledge and skills, so that they can achieve their full potential.
